Samsung Galaxy S4, Pope Francis elected and Michael Caine at 80 – The news in world records

Pope Francis today begins his first day as pontiff after yesterday being named as the new head of the Catholic Church.
The Argentine becomes the first Latin American and Jesuit pope and succeeds Benedict XVI following his shock resignation last month.
At 76 years of age, Francis is one of the oldest popes to be chosen, however, the record for the oldest pontiff at the time of his election remains with Clement X (Italy, b. Emilio Altieri 13 July 1590) who became pope on 29 April 1670 at the age of 79 years 290 days and crowned on 11 May that year. He died on 22 July 1676.

Electronics giant Samsung is expected to lift the lid on the much hyped new Galaxy S4 smartphone at a launch event in New York this evening.
The new handset is rumoured to have an octo-quad processor, 13 megapixel camera, and a huge 5-inch screen.
The series is renowned for having powerful mobile processors, with one of the S4's predecessors helping to power a successful attempt in 2011 for the fastest robot to solve a Rubik's Cube.
CubeStormer II - commissioned by ARM Holdings and built by Mike Dobson and David Gilday (all UK) from four LEGO Mindstorms NXT kits and a Samsung Galaxy S2 mobile phone - completed a scrambled 3x3 cube in 5.270 seconds at the offices of Wired magazine in London, UK.  It marked the first time in history, a robot was able to solve a Rubik's Cube faster than a human.
A Guns N' Roses fan is suing Axl Rose after the singer knocked his teeth out with a microphone at a gig in Perth, Australia.
Darren Wright damaged his two front teeth and injured his mouth after Rose threw his microphone into the crowd at the end of the band's set at Perth Arena on Saturday night (March 9).
The highest insured dentures are a set that once belonged to George Washington and are covered for $10 million (£7 million). They are currently on display at Mount Vernon, George Washington's estate in Virginia, USA.
The owners of the estate bought the dentures for $5,500 (£4,000) in 1949. The false teeth are made of elephant ivory, cows teeth and slave's teeth which all sit in a lead base kept in place by two coiled springs. They were made because George Washington only had one healthy tooth when he was inaugurated as America's first president in 1789.
Finally British actor Michael Caine celebrates his 80th birthday today.
The star of The Italian Job and Dark Knight series is one of the oldest actor's to be nominated for Best actor, having been given the nod for his performance in The Quiet American in 2003 at the age of 69 years and 334 days.
However, the record is held by the late Richard Farnsworth, who was aged 79 years 167 days when the Academy nominated him for Best Actor for his role as Alvin Straight inThe Straight Story in 2000.
